Frugal CANDLE Tips

1. Make candles last longer! Freeze in the freezer for at least 3 hours, and they'll last hours longer.

Frugal Gift Ideas for All Occasions

1. POTPOURRI BOTTLES - Fill glass bottles (from the dollar store) with things like potpourri, artificial flowers or cute plastic fruit. Fill the bottle will baby oil and then a few drops of fragrance oil. Tie a ribbon around the bottle and add a gift tag. A great gift, and very cheap! TOTAL COST: Approximately $2.50/gift.

2. GIFT BASKETS - Always a popular gift idea! These can be made from anything, not just a 'basket'. Fill with your crafty items, or little gifts from the dollar store to keep it frugal. This is also a good time to give away little items in your own home that you're not using - new candles, little bottles of cream, etc. TOTAL COST: $5.00+/gift

3. CRAFTS SUPPLY BASKET - A slight variation of a regular gift basket is a crafts supply basket. Does your friend love to sew? Or does she love scrapbooking? Great! Supply her with a few of the essentials. Or, if you have a favorite hobby and you'd like to get your friend started in the same, you can easily come up with a few of the basics to get her started. TOTAL COST: $10.00+/gift

4. HOMEMADE FOOD MIXES - A popular gift anytime of year, homemade food mixes taste gourmet but cost pennies to make! View our section on Food Mixes in our recipes area, plus in our newsletter for ideas that will inspire you. TOTAL COST: $2.00/gift approximately.
