Help for Kidney Stones

"Joyce was asking how to prevent kidney stones. We quit counting my husband's kidney stones when he got to 12 and finally said, "Enough is enough!" He always 'toughed them out' but the last one was too much for him and he finally went to the emergency room. At that point I finally got him to go to a urologist. The best advice I can give you is to go see a urologist. There are different kinds of kidney stones and, therefore, different treatments. For the kind of kidney stones my husband has, the doctor told him to not drink tea or anything carbonated. He also put him on a diuretic. That was over five years ago and, thank God, NO MORE KIDNEY STONES! The basic idea is to flush the things that cause kidney stones out of the body before kidney stones can form. "If I remember correctly You need magnesium in order to break the calcium deposits forming kidney stones. Magnesium is necessary in order to metabolize calcium."

"Too much iced tea will cause kidney stones. Also, you have to drink a lot of water every day. "

"Hi! When I had a bout with kidney stones my Dr told me a couple of things that I thought I'd pass along. #1 was DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. Stones are more prone to develop when you are dehydrated, and you can be dehydrated without showing any symptoms. So, drink, drink, drink water. #2 was a warning about ice tea. Anything with caffeine can be dehydrating, but there is something "special" about ice tea. Hot tea doesn't seem to be a problem, but too much ice tea can be. "
